Fleet Manager

Colby Coleman joined Sukut Equipment and Parts four years ago and serves as operations and inventory management. Colby was hired on as an inventory clerk and was quickly promoted to inventory manager in 2017. He assumed his current role in 2018.

Colby started his parts career after working as an automotive technician. He worked for three years managing inventory and selling used automotive and semi-truck parts. At that point, he was looking for a larger challenge and moved on to work at a local Freightliner managing their $5M inventory, while training for their parts counter on his own time. Colby then decided to take the next step into the construction equipment field. He has quickly learned at each tier in his career. From Honda and Chevrolet parts to Freightliner and Western Star parts to Caterpillar.

Since Colby has been at Sukut Equipment and Parts, he has completely gone through and adjusted the parts’ inventory and implemented a new organizational layout for the yard in the process. He has also completely reconfigured the warehouse bays, maximizing space and increasing efficiency for the shipping department. Colby is consistently looking to maximize space and continues to estimate operating space for future growth.

Colby oversees the daily operations of the parts yard, building maintenance, and performs safety inspections. Colby also monitors the machine teardown process and cost depletion of machines through sales. He continues to be actively involved in the parts and attachments’ inventory, checking and organizing process, sales, and business development.

In his free time, Colby enjoys classic cars, concerts, sports games (Angels, Ducks, and Steelers), NASCAR, and spending time with his family.
